People seek therapy for all sorts of reasons…
For some it is to address a specific issue such as low self esteem or anxiety, and for others it may be to help with a sudden life event. At other times people may want to explore a sense of feeling consistently ‘flat’ and having lost a sense of purpose and pleasure in life. Many of us have parts of ourselves which feel troubled, or hard to reach – and sometimes deeply painful to touch upon. Working together in therapy helps to gently explore those more obscured parts and often to understand the obstacles that may be getting in the way, finding healthier ways of living and relating.
I practice what’s called Integrative therapy, which draws from different therapeutic traditions, theories, and techniques. I enjoy using this way of working so I can be versatile and adjust the way I work according to the person sitting before me.
